McFly Up-close & Personal on MTV Hits 4 Part series begins Saturday 31st March 2007 at 10am Get up-close and personal with Mc Fly as they embark on their sell out ‘Up Close and Personal’ tour of the UK & Ireland. MTV Hits gets fly on the wall footage from McFly’s smelly tour bus and goes behind the scenes at each concert giving fans the chance to fully experience life on the road with their favourite boy band. Filmed by the band themselves and their tour manager this series is exclusive to MTV Hits and promises to reveal sides of the band fans have never had the pleasure of seeing before. The documentary style feature will be mixed in with McFly videos as well as their personal faves plus e ach week we’ll be giving the viewers a chance to win a pair of tickets to the following weekend’s gig plus a chance to meet the band backstage afterwards. Mcfly have just announced that their new single off the album Motion In The Ocean will be Transylvania and it's the first single where Dougie has the lead vocals! The single will be released on 23rd of April. (As the boys went back to Africa to see how the money raised from their 2005 comic relief single had been used. Check back later for an interview about their trip).

As always the single will include lots of mcfly content including live performances.

Check back for more news including the new video which will see the boys dressed up as...well girls in a gothic castle, with nasty villians, damsels in distress and over the top shenanigans. McFLY has just announced Brand New Tour Dates for next year, and this time they'll be going to the places they havn't been since their first tour. Lines for booking for tickets will open on 9th December for all dates. The tour will be called Up Close And Personal and will be touching places like Bristol, Plymouth, Liverpool and Swindon. McFly will be playing at Pulse FM's Party on 3rd September at Myrtle Park in Bradford. Click here for more details. Danny was on the phone to Pulse FM this morning to talk about it, the their tour and other stuff...listen to it all here (right-click & "save target as..."). 17th August (last peice of news before i go on holiday for a week)

Another band thats up for the running to support mcfly on their tour is The Academy. If you like what you hear, message McFly and tell them! Tom's already sent a message to them saying they'll consider them! Harry raised money for ASPIRE, one of the country's leading spinal cord injury charities, by taking part in an annual cricket match at Mill Hill School Cricket ground in North London on August 6th. Harry said: "I am very happy to be supporting such a great charity such as ASPIRE". Bunbury founder and former pop mogul David English said: "It was a great day and Harry is a natural."

CLICK FIVE from America announced as Special Guests on Mcfly Arena Tour

Mcfly has announced Atlantic Records CLICK FIVE from America as the Special Guests on the arena tour playing all dates except Newcastle. Click Five have just had a big hit in the states called ‘Just The Girl’ and like McFly, they are about to film a movie. McFLY made history the week before last as they were the last ever act to perform on the nation's favorite music programme Top of the Pops. The last ever episode was recorded last wednesday but was shown on BBC2 yesterday. Numerous presenters were there from the past years of Totp looking back at some of the most memorable moments in Totp's history. The programme started 42 years ago when The Beatles were the first act to perform.

Then they showed some of the more recent performances from the likes of Beyonce and Gnarles Barkley. After years of it being on a Thursday afternoon, the BBC decided to move it on to a Friday evening and that was when "the weekend starts here at Top of the Pops" qoute started. The ratings were as big as it was going to get in the 90's. In 2004, the Totp logo and intro music changed, but still keeping it on the friday slot. That all changed when it moved to Sunday on BBC2 about 18 months ago. Then there was the chop and change to Mondays for a while. The ratings unsurprisngly dropped tremendously after that but no one would ever expect the decision that the programme should finally be axed.

Top of The Pops will never be forgotton as the best programme for chart music, it will be sorely missed.

McFly ran the Sport Relief mile on Saturday. Danny didn't have a good start as he clutched his stomach, "I have just had a fry up, it's not the best before a race". Bless. Harry gets bowled over for Sports Relief

Harry is off to India this weekend as part of a celebrity cricket team who will be joining in the fundraising for Sports Relief 2006. Click here for a video clip of Harry in India. The charity helps to raise funds through sport to change the lives of needy people at home and across India. The week long trip will be filmed for a special documentary to be shown on TV later in the year. The celebrity team includes Chris Evans, Dermot O Leary, Nick Hancock, Patrick, Kielty, Phil Tufnell and Jack Russell. The team will be pitching against a local team of Tsunami survivors and against India owns Bollywood stars! Just My Luck opens in the UK

We can confirm that McFly's big screen debut will come to the UK when Just My Luck opens in cinemas nationwide on June 30th. UK fans will at long last be able to see Tom, Dougie, Danny and Harry in action and even better news is the boys plan a new UK single on July 17th. Check back for more details.

The Boys Are Back In Town!

McFly brought the house (or should we say Tower) down at the weekend as the entertained the crowd with arguably the best performance of the Tower of London gig to celebrate the 30th birthday of the Prince’s Trust. Having spent much of the past few weeks in the USA promoting their album and movie debut in Just My Luck, the boys aptly chose to perform the Thin Lizzy anthem The Boys Are Back in Town. The guys allegedly also challenged the two young princes to a drinking duel, but somehow we dont think they'll be taken up on the offer. The boys indeed are back in town as Mcfly settle down to prepare for their new single to be announced very soon.

Thursday 4th May

McFly will be performing at The Prince’s Trust 30th Birthday concert at The Tower of London on Saturday 20 May. A right royal audience will include Prince Charles, Princes William and Harry and The Duchess of Cornwall. The concert will raise money to help change the lives of millions of young people in the UK. Joining McFly are Ozzy Ozbourne, Sugababes, Embrace, Pink, Ronan Keating, Bee Gees, Annie Lennox and Lionel Richie. (Has been been aired over a month ago)

Friday 28th April

Additional Glasgow date for Arena Tour

McFly have added an additional show at Glasgow SECC as part of their 2006 Arena Tour. The gig on Tues Oct 3rd will go on sale this Saturday 29th April at 9am. For tickets click here! 2 Free U.S. McFly shows Plus Just My Luck movie premiere. McFly will be giving the first of 2 free shows starting at Universal City Walk in Los Angeles on May 7th. It will be held on the outdoor stage next to the Hard Rock café and is for all ages, no tickets required. At 5pm McFly will be signing copies of the album booklet for fans who pre-buy the album - actual CD to be picked up at Tower Records from Tuesday (release day) in Sherman Oaks.

The second free show is in New York's Times Square at the Hard Rock Café - 12 noon.

On May 9th - the release date of McFly's album in the U.S. the band will attend the record carpet premiere of Just My luck at The national Theatre in Westwood from 6.45pm

McFly Arena Tour

3 of McFly's 13 date arena tour are, due to unforeseen circumstances, changing dates. Nottingham Arena will now be on October 5th (previously 10th) Dublin Point will now be on October 9th (previously 13th) Belfast Odyssey will now be on October 10th (previously 14th) Apologies to fans for any inconvenience and McFly look forward to seeing you on tour in a few months time.

Back from the States!!!

McFly are as we speak on a jet plane home after an 8 day promotional trip to the U.S. The boys have giving back to back interviews and performances from the East Coast in New York to the West Coast and Los Angeles ahead of the release of their U.S. album on May 9th and their movie debut in Just My Luck on May 12th. The boys will be back in the studio writing and recording in the UK before returning to the USA at the end of the month.

Wooooo!! First signs of mcfly back after their hols! The guys performed a special song for Chris Moyles' birthday this morning. Happy New Year and SOD collaboration!!!

McFly are back from their hols this week. Danny and Dougie cruised the oceans, Tom tanned it up in Florida with his family while Harry opted for the far shores of Thailand . The fab four are all back together next week when they go straight back into the studio to record some new tracks which you'll be able to hear in the spring.

McFly have also teamed up with Son Of Dork on their new single Eddies Song. The recording took place during a jamming session they did with S.O.D and you can hear the exclusive download version by buying it here for just 99p or by simply texting SOD to 81330. Official statement

Contrary to a story in today's Sun newspaper, Danny Jones of McFly has not asked to leave the band to go solo, nor has he been invited to write songs in America with a top production company, nor is he unhappy with how the band has been performing since the first album.
Danny Jones is as happy in McFly as he has ever been and is upset if anyone thinks he is less than 100% committed to the group. Says Danny; Im really upset by this rumour. No way am I giving up my dream job. Ive got McFly in my blood and I will be in McFly as long as the fans want us.
